Public education remains one of the most important issues facing Texas communities. As schools navigate ongoing challenges such as funding, teacher recruitment and retention, student achievement, accountability, special education services, school safety, and implementation of new state policies, it is important for public education stakeholders to share their experiences and help shape discussions about the future of Texas public schools. 

Gubernatorial candidate and current HD 49 Rep. Gina Hinojosa's campaign is hosting a series of public school-focused events across Texas this week. The events are intended to provide a forum for participants to discuss what is happening in their local schools, ask questions, share concerns, and offer perspectives on the challenges and opportunities facing public education in Texas. 

A public town hall will be held at 7 p.m. June 9 in Fort Worth. Community roundtable discussions are scheduled for June 9 in the following cities: 

• Arlington 
• El Paso 
• Houston 
• Grapevine 
• McKinney 
• Richardson 
• San Antonio
