Additional Information

A vacancy was created when the House of Representatives voted to expel former Rep. Bryan Slaton (R-Royse City) from the Legislature during the 2023 legislative session. The unanimous vote took place May 9, 2023, following an investigation of allegations that Slaton behaved inappropriately with an underage staffer.

A special election has not yet been called to fill the vacant seat. Stay tuned for updates.
