Harrison previously ran unsuccessfully for U.S. Congress (Texas’s 10th Congressional District) during a special election in July 2021.
Endorsed in the 2022 Republican primary election by the Texas Home School Coalition, which supports using public funds for private and home-schools, giving private and home-schooled students greater access to public education services, and limiting state oversight of private and home schools.
According to his 2021 campaign website, Harrison has been endorsed by former U.S. Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos.
